the wife is buying me another ipod for xmas (she already gave me my new shuffle!!) but i dont know which one to get, i was thinking about the 80gb classic as it looks like the bizz but she pointed out the touch.

the interweb burb about it says it can play movies and music, but so can the classic apparently.

does anyone have either a touch or a classic, what is the classic like for watching films? also, the touch is supposed to be able to access the net, how does it do it (do you get proper internet access) and does it cost or do you need a provider to get access.

cheers in advance and sorry for the bone questions, im a bit of a technophobe.

Well the ipod touch uses wi-fi to connect to the internet so if you have a wireless internet connection at home then its free. There are also places like macdonalds that offer free wi-fi.

Watching films on them takes a bit of getting used too as it is quite small. The screen for the touch is bigger so the bigger the movies so it may be easier than the classic. I have the new ipod nano and watching films on it is hard after half an hour in the car i felt sick as it had subtitles (foreign) and i was concentrating on them.

The classic has a much bigger memory (i think) so if you have a lot of music and movies then that may be best.
Personally i would get the touch as all my friends would be envious and it looks cool.

Like normal internet this video shows you what it is like

  • I have the 80GB classic in white. I love my iPod, its like having a baby!

Watching films just takes a bit of getting used to as the screen is small, as has been said already.

If I had the choice I'd definately go for the new touchy feely one.

well, I'm writing this MSG on my new. iPod touch and I'm gonna be honest, its the coolest thing in the world, I love it man!!
It is taking a while tho so i Might go back to a proper computer in a minute
  • The battery for both only lasts 5 hours for video, but the screen on the touch is a lot better. It does take a little getting used to, but is soooo nice. My housemate has cracked his and there are a lot of cool free apps out there. The WiFi is also useful for settling bets in the lounge when we are all to lazy to move!!
  • why ipod?
  • A) are you going to watch many films when you are out the house
    B) a touch screen in a bikers poket? i have learnt tha fancey equiptment with touch screen dosent last very long

it about time they made a extreme sports ipod i reckon

it is alot of cash to be fair, but ive got the 16gb one and the mrs bought it for me, its a very cool thing though and 16 gb should be plenty. ive got 50 albums on there and ive got about 13.5 gb left, which should be enough for atleast 10 films and plenty more music. ita also very cool to be able to use it for the web at wifi places
