new brake hoses

hi i have just brought a new pair of hayes brakes ( http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=produ ... goryId=130 ) and i want to get new hoses i was looking at the Goodridge cable system ( http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=2938 ) and i just wanted to no if these would work with each other.

    well if you read what they have put on the webby i would say NO Goodridge cable system but it should be goodridge hydraulic hose. if it is it will work but you will need the correct fittings,

  • The hose would work on Hayes brakes however you need new connectors for both brakes also, it is not simply a case of undoing you ones that come with the brakes and reusing them on the goodridge hose, the connectors and hose comes in at about £30 per brake, give or take. So budget about an extra £60 for upgrading the brakes, plus you would need a bleed kit and also new fluid for them once the hoses have been sawpped, so all in a bit more expensive, for my mind save that money and run them as they are or use the extra for the hoses combined with your original spend for a better set at around the £200 mark (juicy ultimates or new XT)
