Which brake should I get? I have been looking into this for a while and just as i thought i was there I found that hayes stroker ryde (i assume 07 from merlin) were in my price bracket.

What i am after is a brake that will offer less maintenance then my current MX2s, nice modulation and power. I have about £125 to spend on the system. (i will need shifters as well but i already have a separate budget for those along with a bleed kit). I ride mostly XC

I was about to pick the juicy 5 (just working out where to buy) but merlin's ad in this months MBUK threw me right off and now I am back to square one.

As I am having trouble finding Hayes stroker reviews I thought i would try and pick some brains here.

Right now I have eliminated the shimano LX as i have read they lack a bit in power. Im steering away from the 3s as i like the split clamp idea and the 9s due to the many reviews saying they are very on/off.

Thanks in advance

[EDIT] could a mod please add hayes stroker ryde (from merlin) to the poll? I forgot to press the add option button [/edit]
