After having spent a lot of time asking questions of everyone on here, I have finaly bought my bike. I had an old bike and got bitten by the bug to get riding again and asked for a lot of advice on here about everything from types of brakes to sizing.
After receiving some good advice, and of course checking things out for myself I have finally bought my first proper MTB. A 2008 Giant XTC 3.5 (Spiderman will be pleased!). I am over the moon with it, it is everything I wanted and I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who took time to answer some of my pretty dumb questions which helped me get what I wanted and more.
To all the guys who said I should have a Large frame - you were right!
Oh, and I am also happy to say that I got it from my LBS, not out of any sense of duty, but they offered me a great deal, and I wil be sticking with them.
Thanks again - but be warned, there will be more dumb questions in the near future.

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of mountain biking.
Like Nick says check out out ParkTools first. I've found them very helpful and it stops you looking a dumb ass in front of people
But everyone I've dealt with on this site has been more than helpful.0
