Looking for a set of 50mm deep (rim) wheels for tyres. What are okay for a guy around 90kilos? And where should I look? I am new to forums and not sure if this is even the place to ask.

While I'm not a fan of full carbon wheels (I like the aluminum braking surface better) I
have a Hed 3 (3 spoke)rear wheel(alum. brake surface). Don't have any problems with it and it's seen
it's fair share of mileage. I weight 200 pounds and not a problem. The only thing I
would caution you about is that most carbon wheels are expensive and when, and if,they
    break, they're broke forever.

If you're planning on road racing you can't use a tri-spoke or similar - you have to use a conventional spoked wheel, but they're OK for TT's and triathlons. Many carbon wheels are fairly flexy due to their low spoke count, so you're probably looking at something like a Campagnolo Bora, Fulcrum Carbon or Reynolds - all have excellent reputations. Lots of people are happy with Planet-X - probably the best value going, but less sure about their stiffness and durability for a heavy rider.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • HED do offer the full carbon Stinger in a 50mm rim depth.
