sram x7 front shifter

i think my sram x7 front shifters broken. the bottom/long lever isnt moving the cable or springing back when pushed. is there something wrong with the spring inside?
is there anything i can do to fix it or do i need to save up for a new shifter?

    Try taking the cable out, then refitting it.

    I had the same problem with mine i had to take the whole shifter to bits and clean then rebuild it {1 1/2 hours per shifter a pain in the ar*e ] the problem kept coming back every two or three rides and i got sick of them and fitted xt. My mate has x 5's on his new bike and had to take it back to the shop with the same problem after 2 rides
