Is the Stumpjumper one of the ones with a "brain" thing?0

and what are you actually asking?
we have told you what FSR stands for on spesh bikes.
it used to describe speshes horst link suspension.
look on there webby for more infos.
or ask the question you are thinking about."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Of course,Specialized actually stayed true to their word and produced an FSR shock.

sorry if we all cant afford Whyte`s or 2 grand + bikes. I dont find my FSR overly flexy or bouncy - but of course i bow to your superior experience and intellects.
I`m going to chuck my bike over a cliff - it`ll probably bounce back up though !0 -
I ride a Saracen full susser, no fancy pants bike for me! ;-)0

As no one is giving you an answer...
I assume that the "brain thing" that you refer to is the remote 'vibration sensor' that sits close to the rear wheel.
This is standard on the top spec stumpjumpers, the expert, pro and carbon I believe.
My Elite has a regular Fox Triad shock.
All Epic's have the brain thing.0 -
So what is the purpose of the "brain thing"?
Is it connected to the rear shock?0 -

yes the idea is that when it senses a bump it opens a valve in the shock letting oil flow, therefor letting the shock move. when it doesnt detect anything it stays closed, no oil flows and the shock shouldnt move. designed to eliminate peddle bob and make climbing easier, but still allow it to move over a bump. pretty much anyway!I said hit the brakes not the tree!!
