    Dammit, Dammit, Dammit.

I really, really want one of those...but Mrs C would have a hissy fit if I was to accidently purchase one. :(

  • If I have learned one thing it's ingenious ways of getting bike purchases past the missus (this is some weird role reversal)

I end up buying stuff and putting it straight in the shed as she has no idea whats in there!

Like frames and wheels and stuff - if she knew just how much I spent would be up sh*t creek without a paddle

we don't have a joint bank account (thank ye Gods - would never get away with it otherwise) so I make the money up in other ways over time.....

I have zero chance of slipping any purchases past 'er indoors without her noticing - luckily she is nearly as big a kit freak as me though!
  • We do have a joint bank account - I just talk her to death about the stuff I'm getting, she eventually gives in and just tells me to get it just so I'll stop going on about it.

Meh! I have seperate bank accounts/Credit Cards blah blah blah! It's just that I'd need to justify the expenditure to myself.

I'm in a bit of a quandry, do I get some uberlightweight forks for the XTC, convert the road bike to 10spd or get a lightweight FS XC Race Frame?

I can reasonably justify the expenditure on one of those items.

but does not one of the family need a replacement frame?

Kick stomp .... well they do now!

    hand me downs are great.

  • El Cap - personally I would go with Option C = new FS XC frame (because nothing is as satisfying as getting a new frame!)

Your body will thank you for the FS XC frame, you can upgrade the rest later. You may not get another chance at the frame. Buy it !

If it was just the frame I'd be more interested.
