Chelsea embankment heading east just before Chelsea bridge
http://www.google.co.uk/maps?ie=UTF8&ll ... &z=20&om=1
It's quite a good one for avoiding the queing traffic at the lights and not having to thread through and round cars...hop on it here http://www.google.co.uk/maps?ie=UTF8&ll ... &z=19&om=1 and head up to the lights...where it stops mid pavement...no signs, no markings...it just "ENDS" in the middle of the pavement. There's no ASL at the junction btw
So what would you do?
A/ Dismount, push your bike to the road, wait for a space to put your bike in the road before you can restart you journey
B/ Cycle to the crossing and, practice track stands (or put yer foot down) and wait for a space to appear between all the cars and bikes
C/ Ride straght ahead and wait and the pavement for a green light and then drop off the pavement and merge with the rest of the cyclists (make sure no cars are turning left)
D/As C but wait for a break in the traffic, RLJ , bunny hop of the pavement and into the night
E/ Ignore the cycle lane completely and join the scrum
F/ Other, please explain
Personally I go for either B or C depending on pedestrian numbers (which are usually low), but I'm open to other suggestions...So what would you do? and is you all come back with "A" I know something is up

I live just off Lupus street and regularly cycle along this route but I'm struggling to understand what the problem is here? I just stick to the road at all times.

I sometimes stick to the road as well, but if the traffic at the lights ahead is heavy, it's a lot quicker to take the cycle lane instead of filtering through the traffic at 2-5 mph.
It's possible to get all the way up to the lights on a clear patch of cycle lane with few other cyclist and no cars. With the added bonus of getting ahead of everyone trying to squeeze past the BMW and Mercs who seem to think that no one should pass them.
It's not a "problem" like a tree blocking a trail, more as a fork in the track and wondering which way to go
Or, as the case may be, what everyone else does (or would do) at the end of the lane which stops in the middle of a pavement

Probably C if the lights were red or E otherwise.0
