After picking up my Pitch today I've had a play with the settings on the RS Pike my only concern is the O-ring that holds the adjuster in place may not quite hold it in place if things get a bit rough.

Whats the best way of ensuring you don;t go loosing the loverly red anodised twiddler?

Or is it OK to ride with it removed??

    remove it.

but it does take quite some force to pull it off just make sure it is fitted correctly.

Are there no issues with ingress of foreign bodies then?

Whatever you do don`t loose it.

Lost mine the 1st week i got my reba`s. Ordered replacement from CRC who stated 4-5 day delivery. Waited a week, no sign. Contacted them and was told that they were not likely to get them in stock.

Went through Fisher Outdoors, (UK rockshox spares supplier) ordered the part, which will come care of Leisure Lakes Preston, only to recieve an email stating that the product will not be delivered till mid December.

This is the only place that stocks so i have to wait. I now carry a single 2.5mm hex key in my multitool pouch!!!

    Cheers Phil

BTW it was end September when i lost it
  • I am purchasing some Pikes for my new build. I'm getting the coil 454's, are both sides of the top of the fork anodised metal, ie they aren't rubber?

  • Sorry Nick, wasn't too clear. Basically the adjustment sections, right at the top of both arms(legs?) I think one side is red and the other blue, I have this strange desire for them to be metal, not rubber!

iirc both is the answer. right leg def metal. and the U turn is metal. and if not u-turn then it is metal as well. (the seals are rubber  ).

  • I've only just figured out what iirc means. I'm getting old and slow.

What I thought it meant up until now I have no idea!

    Thanks Nick

At risk of being sent into the naughty corner, I pulled mine off for the first time in 8 months yesterday ( ). It took a lot of swearing and a flatbladed screwdriver to get it to move so I really don't think you'll have any issues. Mine's never dropped off and I'm not excalty kind to it...

Think you'll be pretty pleased with them - no nasty plastic bits on them at all. I've got the 454 Air U-Turns and I've no complaints whatsoever. They even come with a proper bung in the bottom of the steerer tube.
