Grammo Bars - Heard of them????
Hi
I have a new bike
It has Grammo bars:
I dont know the first thing about them, I cant find much on Google
The bike is alloy with carbon forks
Im getting a lot of buzz through the hoods
My questions are:
1) Are these bars any good?
2) How much are they to buy new?
3) Would carbon bars be a help to the buzz?
4) If so which bars do you rec?
Thanks
David

1) They look like decent handlebars, therefore they are good. I have rarely heard of
people having any kind of major bar problems.
2) Not a clue.
3) Maybe, at least that's what they claim, but I'm not sure what you mean by "buzz".
4) The ones you have. If you have a "buzz" problem have an experienced rider take
It out for a spin and see what he says.

Hi,
Grammo is actually a New Zealand company and they have a very good reputation for kit overseas (See feature in this month's Pro Cycling mag on their carbon wheels).
They are being brought into the UK in 2008 for the first time, so expect to see them in the shops from March onwards.
We at Sunday are looking at a deal to use them as OE kit on our bikes next year, and have therefore had samples from the company. I have their carbon wheels running on an 07 Silk Road Pro and they are really really nice, stiff and comfortable. In fact I've decided to put our continental pro squad (KFS Special Vehicles) onto their kit. Grammo do a carbon bar, a carbon aero bar and the alu bar you have, as well as a womens specific version - a good, well thought through range. I've been using the carbon bar and they are fine, but i've reverted to the bar you have there - i like feeling the road positively, and wouldn't say i've noticed a buzz particularly.
Retail price - i'm at home now so don't have the list in front of me. If i remember, i'll post it on here tomorrow when i get into the office (will be the afternoon, though, as Wednesday morning is Sunday Bicycles mid week 5 hour training torment ride! he he he)

Grammo is being imported by the New Zealanders themselves, they have a distribution agent in the UK who'll be punting them to shops (not me) but as i say we'll be putting them on some of our bikes and the team bikes. Good value, no nonsense performance gear from what i've had through to try so far.
Those bars retail at £29.99, carbon ones at £133.95.
Viper 38mm wheels- clincher version - retail at £675 / PR
Viper 50T wheels on tubs are a bit of a steal at £500 / PR.
September - we built the first 5 up into full bikes yesterday. One has been sent to Cycling Weekly and i'll put a couple of amateur snaps of them on the website in teh product area later today so people can have a look!
Cheers

Cheers Greg, what wheels did the cycling weekly bike have on it? I'm looking at buying some deep section clinchers and might add Grammo to that list at that price.
