Is there a quick and effecient method to removing transfers from a frame?
The Raleigh transfers are surface mounted on top of the varnish.
I have tested some light surface scraping .
It will remove the transfer but in very small time consuming increments.
The transfers are in good condition but I want them off.
Thanks G

  • i removed some by warming them with a hairdryer and peeling them off with tweezers.
  • vinyl ones will come off by gently warming with a hairdryer.

water slide type may come off with a bit of solvent (cellulose thinners), or nail varnish remover. Test it somewhere else on the frame that won't matter to see if it bubbles the paint.

Otherwise very gentle rubbing with wet/dry paper used with soapy water
Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.

Thanks everyone. They are water slide so I may start with the solvent method.
