Truative sram 5D Cranks creaking/clicking?

The crank when riding is creaking like mad. In lower gears it doesn't seem to do it. I took hold of the left crank and right crank arm. I pulled up on one and down on the other. It seems that the clicking is happening this way IE when im pushing down and the pedal is coming up, There is no side ways movement.
Any ideas?

cheers nick i think thats the problem, bb on its last legs.
Now i only have 1 problem now i cant find the size of the BB as it comes in 3 different sizes!!!! I cannot locate the size of it on the internet at all!!
Anyone have a GT Avalanche 2007 model that has replaced their sealed powerspline unit?

Probably a 68x110/113. It will be written on thr BB, and you can measure it.0

They all do this, they work their way loose slightly and click and creak.
Does my head in and will be replaced!!!!
Get a very long Allen Key and tighten it up very very tight, do this every week or every couple of days if you ride every day like me. Take said long allen key with you on longer rides as it will come loose.
If you have a torque wrench even better.
Or throw it in the bin and use something else.Want a club that knows the trails around Newcastle during the week and goes further every weekend of the month, rain hail sleet or shine?

The problem with Powerspline chainsets is they don't really allow for wear.
You see on an old square taper chainset, if things wore a little bit you'd simply do it up tighter and it would push a little further onto a nice tight bit of the BB.
But the problem with Powerspline is that from new the crankarm butts right up to the deepest part of the spline on the BB axle. So when things wear, simply tightening it up doesn't do much.
The easiest option I've seen is to take a bit of material off from the back of the crank with a file. It's easy because the cranks are dead soft and it means you can tighten them up a bit more.
Not ideal though.Rule 64:

cheers guys,
I remember when i first got it off 'chain reaction cycles'. I went out on it and the first day the left side fell off and the right side wore loose!!!
I then locktited the bolts back on and checked for looseness regular. Am i to think then that these powerspline cranks-brake the bearings every like couple of months?
On my old specialized the trutive on that was a sqr taper and lasted over 2 years before replacement!!0 -
They arent the best system TBH.0

Square taper is the way forward anyways. I detest my XTRs :SRule 64:
