Looks like I mightneed a new cassette.

If so should I:

Get another LX
Get an XT
or an SRAM PC950/970?

And WHY?

Also what advantages are there of getting an 11-32 over an 11-34?

In case you need to know:
Just got new chain SRAM PC971
Front rings LX
Rear mech XT (97 version)

11-34 gives you a better bail out gear, at the expense of a larger jump. You need to check your mech will clear it, and being a 97 I dont think it will.

I run LX cranks, PC971 chain, 94 XTR mech and a 970 cassette. Its all smooth, but I'd rather have an XT cassette!

XT, it's a lot lighter than the Sram 950 & 970. Lasts well too & cheap as chips if you know where to look, Merlin usually have some good prices on them.

11/32 vs 11/34, basically as sonic said, but the 11/32 is lighter still.

Deore crankset, Sram PC971 chain, XT cassette & Sram X9 mech.

    Got the XT.

After a little discussion the difference in price between them all was not that much. The very nice shop pricematched it to an advert in MBUK.

Got an 11-32 as I never seem to use the top ring anyway.

    Thanks for the help.
