hello all,
Need some help on making my mind up, have had my eyes on xt crankset and know that they are V-good. I have now just seen that merlin have truvativ stylo 3.3 team for £69.
Which way should i go?

XT or LX. But get the frame faced first.0

the xt is a lot lighter, and I think it feels a bit stiffer, but that was probably frame rather than crank related.0
-
so both you guys think it's worth the extra £ to go for the xt?0

Over the Stylo yes! Probably worth it over the LX - its about 70g lighter, but some of that is down to alloy chainrings, rather than the steel inner of LX.0

The axle on the LX is about 3 times as thick (still hollow) and al lot of weight goes there, seemingly unnecessarily, other than to increase the weight!0

I honestly think, as LX and XT are so close, that Shimano has to purposely downgrade LX to differentiate it!0

looks like i'm waiting till pay day and going shimano.
Cheers guys. J0 -
that's what it looks like! I wonder if you could get an engineer to bore an lx one out a bit to make it lighter...0
