evening all , just starting on my mtb career and am looking for buying advice if anyone can help?
trek 6000 or gt avalanche 1.0 08?

Hi,

I take it you want a bike for blasting round the woods, a bit of xc and trails? If so, both are good value, with the GT recently getting a superb review in WMB magazinr. Best thing to do would be to try them both out and see how they feel. Spec wise they are both very good.

thats exactly what i want it for, so basically as you suggest i am best testing and getting a feel for them both and deciding from there? sounds good..

Absolutely! Geometry and sizing varies, so its good to get one that fits.

But i will say one thing. I test rode both bikes & finally went with the TREK6000 because it just felt better to my style of riding.

But i have to say the new TREK6000 seems a bit more sluggish (as i was cheeky & test rode the 2008).

But i am still a fimly impressed with my Trek
