WHICH BIKE????????????

Hi. I'm looking for a bike for a solid xc bike that can take a lot of pain. These are the bikes i've looked at:

Specialized rockhopper 500quid
Marin Bobcat trail 450quid
Marin Northside trail 500quid

Budget=500 quid.

Which one or do you recommend another bike?

    The Northside is a heavuer duty bike, if that is what floats your boat. The others are lighter, trail/xc/woods oriented bikes which I guess is what you need.

    I am not a fan of the Bobcat trail, I think its poor value for money: totally undamped forks, cable discs and 8spd drivetrain is for 300 quid bikes. The Specialized, while not having any discs at all, has a fork that is MUCH better, superb drivetrain, best frame in its class and light weight. Certainly worth a test.

    specialized are a safe bet but i would go for the Marin Northside because its greener
