Strange Sound.
I have (another) odd sound whilst cycling.
It's like a clink or small chain rub, but it's even there when I stop pedaling. It happens twice every revolution, but increases as I go faster, which tells me it's the wheels (although I could swear the sound comes from the crank area). It doesn't happen on the turbo, and it's silent when I spin the wheels or soin the cranks by hand. I'd be surpised if it is the wheels. They're less than 8 weeks old. It's not chain rub or the front/rear mech cable catching, everything's tight and lubed.
Any ideas appreciated.

If the noise is still there when you stop peddling then it is not your drive train, this time of year check that a leaf hasn't got stuck somewhere, they can sound very expensive when they rub. Take the wheels off and have a good look round, you may do this find nothing put it back togeather and alls well. Also check the seat tube, bars etc. are all tight (NOT too tight)0

Cheers. I took the rear wheel off (Shamal Ultra), and even changed the tube, took the tire off and made sure there was no unwanted bits flying around the wheel. I put it back on, and checked the cassette which was clear of any debris - but no joy. What had happened tho, was that the noise was less regular (ie. not every turn). The sound seemed to be spoke related to me, as the 'click' was similar to the noise you get when you flick the spokes to check the tension. I then went round the wheel, firmly squeezing the spokes - I had no idea why, but it seemed a good idea - and the sound's gone. Could it be that the spokes hadn't 'settled', so to speak, as the wheel is still new? Not come across it before.Knackered? Me?0
