Well I have seen many posts slating some cycle companies so though I would do the opposite and say thanks to SJS cycles.
I have bought stuff off them previously all delivered promptly.
This week I have been looking for a cateye light fixing clamp that titted to the rear stays and not the seat post as usual.
I sent them a mail asking and I got a response within 3 hours, I then purchased the clamp which cost all of £1.50.
I received it the following morning.
I was half expecting to wait a week with it being such an expensive item :D
Nice to see a good service being provided.

Great service from them - they really do know their stuff.
  • make nice bikes too :)
  • I admit SJSC give OK service, but delivery charges are high in comparison to other cycle web retailers

  • I once ordered a set of rear canti brakes and SJSC sent a front set by mistake. I phoned them and explained the mix up and was told to keep the front set and a replacement rear set arrived the next day. Very good service.

The best hing about SJS is that hey carry big stocks of hard-to-find spares, something very few bike shops are prepared or bothered to do. They deserve support for this alone.

I have also found them very efficient and pleasant to deal with.

It's nice to give credit where it is due, but shouldn't we just expect good service? Isn't it a bit of a sign that we are often not really getting good enough service, that we feel the need to go public when we actually get it?

Don't get me wrong - I always say thanks when someone gives me a gift, cooks me a nice meal etc. I even thank bus drivers when I'm getting off buses, but I just don't think delivering something you've paid for is that much of a big deal. If the company had to phone 10 different suppliers to get the part, that is special. If they replace something out of warranty free of charge - that is worth mentioning. For example -many thanks to IIYAMA UK for repairing my 17" PC monitor free of charge when it failed a month out of its 3 year warranty period - that kind of thing  !
