Rear deraileur - clicking noise
Been out on the bike again today - there's a ticking noise with the chain on the cassette almost as if the bike hasn't gone into the next gear "fully" - ie when I change from a bigger sprocket to a smaller one it changes gear but I'm left with a constant ticking noise as if it hasn't "fully" changed gear. One solution that does seem to correct this is if I push the front right big STI lever inwards about 10% and hold it there - this makes the noise stop completely, almost as if it needs this final bit to go into gear fully - so I'm just wondering if there's any rear deraileur adjustment I can make that would simulate me holding the large front-right STI lever inwards about 10%.
Thanks

As said, it's the adjuster - just turn a little bit at a time to move the top jocky wheel (on the rear mech) in line with the sprocket. Start with the gears in a middle sprocket first, then check the shifting.
There are usually two adjusting points for STI depending upon the frame, but as it's a minor adjustment, use the one on the rear mech - it's a barrel shaped adjuster where the cable joins the mech - clockwise will move the mech outwards, anti-clockwise will move the mech in towards the wheel.... half a turn at the most each time, check, adjust, check until happy.0 -
Also, it could be that the chain is too tight or loose....check the tension under the frame where the cable runs to the crank.0

Thanks guys - moving the barrel adjuster anti-clockwise about 4-6 revolutions immeadiately quietened the clicking sound both for the 39 & 53 ring on the 4 largest sprockets - it's still a bit clicky on sprockets 5,6,7 on both rings, but I'm happy with the improvement so far.
