Hi guys,
I'm thinking of getting a new frame and idealy I would like to keep it as light as possible while keeping my five inch fork.
I was looking at a maxlight xc>120until I noticed that it has a semi-integrated headset and i've just bought a standard hope headset
My LBS recomended an orange P7 but I am a bit worried about the weight of it :?
Any thoughts much appreciated,
Tim

Why not take your headset back and swap it for a Hope semi-integrated?"Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0

One thing that's occurs to me is that an XC>120 frame AND a new headset costs less than a P7!
Anyway, if you want a steel frame I'd go with a Handjob over P7"Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -

How strong is the handjob?
I am looking at getting a new bike for AM/trail riding. Ideally with roughly 140mm travel because at times with 100mm things got a little worrying and I was left wishing for a little more. Would the stiffee/chameleon be a better idea for an AM hardtail?0 -

The above thread was a big discussion about the P7 and the sub-zero, and some other frames. 3 pages of good stuff, it might help you out a bit?0 -

Cove Handjobs are one of the best mass-produced cro-mo steel frames out there, you shouldn't have any worries with one. The Stiffee is also a corking frame, but they can be pretty unforgiving - I'd think twice before getting one as an all-day bike.0 -

On One 456? Reasonably light, will accept up to a 6" fork and a bargain at £149!0 -

The P7 frame is great, and will turn it's hand to all sorts of different things. It isn't light, and if thats your priority i'd say a Cove Handjob or a Cotic Soul. My P7 comes in at about 28.5lbs, and a mate of mine has a very similarly set up Handjob (albeit with lighter rims) and is about 26.5lbs. The Cotic Soul weighs 4.2lbs for the frame if i'm not mistaken, and can be built up light if that's your thing. The Cotic is 853 steel, the 'job is columbus tubing. I'd say the Cotic is the tougher frame.
If you're going to buy a frame and not a complete bike, you might as well go for something a little different (and pimpy).0 -

What about the Cotic Soul0
