Has anyone painted a frame with Smoothrite?

I have a Raleigh Twenty that does not warrant a respray but thought a cheap fix like Smoothrite could be an option.

  • Brilliant stuff, it's all in the prep...get it clean ,smooth then wipe it all down with tack rags then dry kitchen roll...warm the can up and spray on a still warm-ish day or in a dry garage(wet the floor first).
If you are OK at this sort of thing you WILL get a decent finish.

Thanks Steve. Didn't realise it was a spray I thought it was brush on. Thanks for the tip!

I've used (and am currently using) both brush on and spray smoothrite. Like above I would say it is all in the prep and you really need to give it several coats within a short space of time, don't wait a long time between coats or the paint starts to react.
See my page here for a bit of blog on my experiences with it:
