I currently own a GT aggressor XC2 . I commute daily 30 miles off road and about 100 miles at weekend for pleasure .

Company scheme is a Halfords deal only:

I can pick up a GT aggressor Elite 2008 for £567 on my company ride to work scheme (list price £999) or the GT aggressor XCR for £396 (list price £699)

So I plan to use the XC2 for commuting and my new bike for weekend rides.

The question I have is it worth the extra £s for the Elite, in the Halfords description is says :

Super light GT Triple Triangle Aluminium frame with fully butted and hydro formed tubing.

Is this frame a GT Zaskar on the Elite? under a different name. The rest of the bits I can work out for myself the differences in parts, it’s just the frame.

Is this bike good for 60 to 100 mile XC rides being such a light weight frame?

Think Supersonic will know the answer,

TBH thats the first time I have seen the Elite. I really do wish Halfords would list more details about their bikes - they are the ONLY online reatiler who simply refuses to do a full spec list and it is piss poor. I have emailed them many times, never had a reply. How do they expect people to buy online if they cant see what they are buying?

On the surface, bar the fork, the bikes look similar. I wouldnt have thought it was the Zaskar frame, more likely the Avalanche expert but I could be wrong. The Zaskar is Kinesis Superlight.

Anyway Halfords, sort your bloody website out, it is truly awful.
