campagnolo mirage chainset change

trying to fit new mirage chainset,any advice much appreciated

  • Did this myself a few weeks ago for the first time. First remove the pedals from the old chainset whilst still on the bike, it will be easier to remove and refit when chainsets are still on the bike. Secondly either fit the bike in a strong workstand or get a friend to hold the bike as a fair amount of leverage is required and bike needs to be held firm. Remove the crank 8mm hex bolts with a allen key of 8mm, both sides. screw in very carefully a crank puller, careful not to damage the threads and the chainset will loosen away from the bottom bracket.
    Follow the video on the main bikeradar home page as the guy really explains the procedure well, I wish I saw it before I did the job. Make sure you have a good quality crank puller such as the park tool £12 from halfords.

    many thanks,seems a little daunting but want to do it...feels better doing and completeing it yourself...really appreciate your advice

    can i use a ICETOOLZ n114 crank remover for this along with the 8mm allen??
