Silly sounding question about gloves

I only bought my bike in May, so have so far only done 'summer riding' (not that we had much of a summer). The gloves I bought are very thin mesh type things.
So what I was wondering is do you lot have winter gloves and summer gloves? I've been looking at some waterproof ones as the thought of cold hands isnt fun sounding!

How cold? I have specialized Sub-Zero gloves for winter ( dont know if they still make them? ) They are pretty warm down to......0 degrees..... thay have a removable inner fleece liner so can be worn in slightly warmer weather too as a wind stopper. They are shower proof BUT not sure if they are supposed to be water proof, mine aren't ! so if its really wet you would be better off with a water proof breathable glove. Thinking of getting some seal skins gloves/ socks myself as I hear they are pretty good?

Northern England cold...so bloody freezing!!
Tbh i'm not too fussed about breathable, as long as they're warm and waterproof i'm happy. I looked at the seal skins socks too, but then i saw the price! There must be waterproof socks out there cheaper than that!
Altho suppose chrimbo is coming up so could put it on all on my list for santa to bring for me0
