Sealskinz.
Competely waterproof until mine delaminated after a couple of years so I sent them back to the factory and got a replacement by return free of charge. Well impressed!0 -
Thanks! Can you remember which they were? (e.g. ultra grip)
And did they make your hands smell?! :?0 -
They are very warm too. I hope they've fixed the (minor) problem with the liner though as it comes away when you pull your fingers out.
They aren't 100% waterproof but they are good enough to keep your hands dry for 2-3 hours and, even when they do start getting wet, they still keep your hands warm.0 -
Yes, Ultragrip (under £18 at ATC). They are warm enough for days like today (7 degrees), much colder and I use a thin liner, or if really really cold, my sailing gloves. I never found I got smelly hands.0

Maybe I had a different model - my liner doesn't come out. Also, I think if they let water in after a few hours then they have failed - you should get a free replacement as I did. After all, they are sold as totally waterproof.0 -
I use a goretex shell mit when during proper rain. Definitely 100% waterproof and just slips on top of normal gloves. Very easy to put on and take off as well so I usually take them off as soon as the rain stops.More problems but still living....0

Lots of gloves really are waterproof but have varying degrees of breathability. i.e. they start to get wet from the inside.
A lot also depends on where the waterproofing layer is - those with outer waterproof layers (as with the Goretex mitt) tend to shed water nicely and remain warm. Ones with absorbent outer layers can soak up water - it then evaporates as you ride making your hands nearly as cold as wearing no gloves at all. This usually comes into effect after an hour or so in continuous rain.
And another thing - unless the cuffs and your jacket sleeves are long enough water can run down your wonderfully waterproof jacket straight into them and fill them up nicely!
I speak from experience :?I\'m sure I had one of those here somewhere0
