Measuring seatpost offset

Hello,

Can anyone tell me from where to where you measure on this? I assume that it is from the centre line of the post to the central point at the clamp, i.e. between the two parts that grip.

I am replacing my post and want to make sure that I don't change the set layback/offset setbcak (call it what you will).

Thanks

Steven

Not sure how to do this, but you may be able to find answers on the post manufacturers
website. Seems like they all claim a certain amount of setback. Anywhere from 0 to
25 and possibly more. It will vary on each seatpost depending on how the saddle angle
    adjustment is handled.

Yes. From centre line of post to the centre of the rail clamp. As Denis said there is some variation with the clamp angle but it is very small and can be ignored as you have much more adjustment on the rails.
  • Thanks very much.
