Could a rear shock be replaced with some sort of solid replacement effectively turning your full susser into a hardtail? Just an idea while bored in work & thought someone might have the answer! Apologies if this is the most rediculous post ever :oops: but i was just wondering.

    there are kits to just this. the ones that i have seen do have small elastomers to take the shock out.

    not seen any for a few years. was known as a Lock-Bone.

    IIRC there is also a shock pump that can be mounted in place of a shock, if the shock fails, can't remember the name of it, just remember seeing a review of it somewhere.

    Ace,thought i'd be rediculed for that post lol. So they not very popular then nick? I was just thinkin, instead of me buyin a hard tail to sharpen my trail skills could i feasably do this then?

    Now we get to the bit where i tell you not to be stupid. :wink:

    they were more of a get me home thing or a i need to pedal my bike thing rather than lets ride a HT.

    the reason the frames are not designed to take this type of force.

    i would be happier to see you on an apollo than one of them (or a home made one).

    Thought it might knacker it in someway. But those shock replacement things are ace! Cheers nick apprecite the help, again :oops: . An appollo it is then. Hellfrauds i'm on my way with 40 quid and a spanner to put it together for you :P
