hello
i recently bought a new rear tire after old 1 was too warn for the winter mud.
its a kenda knarly 2.1.
after doing a 30k ride the other day and wasnt impressed. the tire was excelent on the downhill sections over mud and some roots but it was terrible on everything else. slow and hard work with terible grip on rocks and also seems very heavey.
i have no idea what is a good tire so asked guy in shop n he reconmened this for local woods n muddy winter riding.
i ride xc/am about would like somthing less focused towards grip in heavey mud and faster all round.
my old tire which was good was the stock on a 06 kona dawg ( nokian ntb or somet?)
any sujestions would be great sizes up 2 2.35 ish and no more than £25
thanks

ah problem there mainly dh n heavey duty 1s in mbuk and havent got wmb with the more xc 1s.0

High Roller 2.1s are ideal for XC. I swapped mine for 2.35s though, the weight penalty is far outshone by the extra confidence they give me.0

The kenda knarly does look a bit aggressive and slow rolling.
Panaracer Fire XC's and Panaracer Trailrakers are worth a look. I'm currently running conti verticals on my xc bike, there are ok everwhere, apart from deep mud and wet grass, good for lots of sideways action.Intense Socom

I swear by Panaracer Cinder's, they are great in all but the muddiest conditions and in my opinion beat the Fire XC's by a significant margin.
I've also just bought a pair of Bonty Mud X's which will be going on as soon as my tubeless conversion kit arrives, which seem to be very highly rated mud tyres by the magazines.0
