recently moved back from states where i was riding a friends giant xtc 19". It was too small and about to buy a new bike here. am looking at the marin nail trail 2008. I was thinking that the 22" would be right size but no one has any in stock to try. any other suggestions on what might be a good bike? problems for such a tall guy since the bikes are never around for me to test ride.....

    The good thing about being tall is that you will get great end of season bargins with the XL sizes.
    If you want a hardtail, I'd recommend a XC racer as they have a long cockpit and if you get XL you will should have plenty of room.
    There are some good offers on Wiggle at the moment, for example;

    I just bought one and am very happy with it (large for me though as I am only 6ft).

    question is are you a gangly bean pole or a HUUUUGE bloke? dont forget the weight issue. Some manufacturers make bikes for big heavy guys both in size and strength. Kona make a hardtail. and I am sure Norco do one too.
    I never touched it! It was broke when I got here.

    Consider a 29er as well, I really rate mine, and it would look much more to scale for big people. Although, there's nowt to stop little uns riding them either!

    Well I am 6'4 and have been looking at bikes, a trek 19.5" frame was too small and the 21.5' was fine, but would be too big to really use well off road. I then sat on a 20" cube which was perfect (had a long top tube). Being tall you really do have to sit on them I was surprised that only a 20" frame fitted me! (I have a 34 inside leg). I asked a similar question on here a few weeks ago and was told to try them. Stock is an issue in larger sizes you need to be prepared to travel.
