Tiredness....????

I have been road riding since June averaging in the summer about 60 - 100 miles a week with a couple of 15 - 20 mile rides in the week then a big ride at the weekend. Since the weather has turned and clocks changed I have returned to my MTB in the week with a couple of 10ish mile rides then aiming at a longer 30 - 40 mile ride at the weekend. Over the last two or three weeks I have really struggled on the longer rides with a slowing of my average speed and general tiredness. I can't think of anything that I am doing differently. Have any of the more experienced riders also suffered, is it the cold, or due to doing less mileage in the week and therefore only out on my road bike once a week?
Any ideas?

returning to your MTB will do it every time :D

If you've been riding a road bike ... you'll have forgotten what hard going it is on an MTB.

On the 30 milers + remember to take something to eat/drink too.

    It's great to be .....
