DMR revolver maintenance?

I've got a DMR revolver single speed hub, any idea how I can check out the quality of it or anything? The rim is buckled (not surprisingly), 4 spokes are out but if the hub is still OK then I can just get a new rim and save £50 on a hub. is it just a case of "if it spins smoothly and theres no play then its ok"?
checked DMR maintenance website but the pdf contains no information what so ever.
