Park tools are always good, they sell a home mechanic repair stand for around £100 and at the moment you could try to get this? -

I've used the predecessor to this for years, great for servicing bikes, built a couple from scratch on it. Heavy duty, even seems fairly water resistant as I often wash my bike using it.

Slightly high on your price guide but will last.

try out the revolution one ya can get through Edinburgh bicycle co-op £60 i think and are quite good

Agreed, a bargain, you could also go for the Minoura R5000 which is aluminium and has a couple of extra features also from merlin

I have the Park tool PCS 9.No experience of other brands,but its done everything I've asked of it.

many thanks fellers i will pop in merlin and check out PCS10 v minoura - i really want a folding one though so think the PCS10 will pip it

Glad i checked this thread as i'm after getting the park PCS10, was going to get it from CRC but now i think i may have to get it from merlins seen as they are doing it for £78.95 compared to CRC's £99.99.

The minoura comes apart into two sections and the legs fold up so storage is not a problem, mine hangs on the garage wall.
