aha - is that so you can lean foreward a bit more without damaging the goods?

A few people I know have given up on them because they're too soft - they then cause more pressure on the soft tissue. I prefer something like a normal Arione - plenty of flat area to spread the load.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

If I'm in the wrong position on the road I get "absent knob syndrome", and I expect that having to lean forward onto said soft tissue in a tri bike can only make such a situation worse. Am getting my loveley new tri bike in a few weeks, will have to experiment.

  • Some (like the selle italia SLR T1) have a wider, longer nose with a bit more padding. Its not that much softer from the spesh BG saddles that I use for noormal riding. I cant finish a 25 on a road saddle, whereas I comfortably did a 100 using the T1 last year.
  • Mabye some triathlon saddles also make allowances material-wise for the rider being wet at the start of the ride?
