I'm trying to fit a campag xenon to a new aluminium frame and the bolt seems about a mm too big. Aren't frames made with a standard thread or does it need to be re-tapped?
thanks for any help

They're supposed to be standard. What frame is it?

Two ways round this if the hole is too small. Buy a new gear hanger assuming the hanger is replaceable or drill the hole out and buy a Dropout saver insert that your LBS might be able to get hold of.

    Pics and info here.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • thanks for the replies - the hanger isnt replaceable and on trying again its about 1-2mm too small and slightly forcing it only started to damage the aluminium thread. I think I may try and get hold of tapping set otherwise I'll go for the dropout saver. (the frame is an unbranded Deda Energy tubed frame made in italy)
