I've got Hayes discs on my bike and am looking at weight saving options, does anybody know if the new shimano xt discs are much lighter than the HFX 9s?

Your weight for the 9s looks about right, the weight you've quoted for the XT is actually the weight of two levers, not a brake complete.
A brake complete weighs 128g for one lever + 150g for a 160mm rotor + 98g for a caliper = 376g. Not sure if any of those numbers make an allowance for hose, fittings and fluid so it could be more."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
not so sure about weights however I can say the new XT servowave disc brakes are great stoppers, I've recently got a set for my pride and joy and they look and perform great. I got mine of e-bay from a seller from Thialand for less than £100 fully bled, all the bells and whistles, (no rotors) just the callipers and levers.0

Sound like there might be a little weight saving, but looking at the weight savings it probably not worth the outlay, unless I become a total weight weenie!0
