Hi all,

I hope that I am not barking at the wrong tree in this section of the forum.
I recently bought the Enduro SL pro Carbon, and it seems that luck has not been on my side, as both the back and front shock seem to have packed up on me. The back shock was replaced recently as it was loosing pressure, and the front is getting fixed, as it appears that the "o" ring was nipped, not that I know what that means, but bottom line the pressure of the front shock/fork (e150) does not hold at all, and this happened out of the blue.
Now i wonder if a: anyone can tell me what the "o" ring that needs replacing is, and b: is his a common problem, am I alone with this?
I must say that though the bike is FANTASTIC, I am feeling rather unlucky.

Thank you
David

  • I looked at the 08 Enduros, they are great looking bikes, but was so nervous about the in-house fork and shock (especially with all the problems on the 2007 models, looks like history is repeating it self) sorry fella.
I went for a Pitch Pro with a Pike up front and RP2 at the back......all proven kit!

SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPESH SAVERS!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

these things happen from time to time, especially with a new (1st generation) design - look at the problem Rockshox had with the Totem and Lyric forks during 2007

Specialized have taken care of anyone who has developed problems with their Enduro SL's, and that it what it most important - of course the down time of not being able to ride for a day or two and the hassle of taking the bike back to your local dealer is a pain....

Specialized are pretty confident they have solved these "niggles" for 2008

  • Just been told that yesterday by my LBS.

He is 100% confident that the initial problems with the front forks & back shock have been sorted for '08. (he owns an '07 version)

He convinced me anyway, so I ordered one !!

Even after reading the initial post......

This guy has an 08 Eduro, problem with the o ring and front shock losing air, not very reassuring
  • Hi all,

I am picking the Enduro up in the morning, even though it was fixed within 24 hours.
it seems that there have been a few problems like mine, and it seems to be a particular batch (so we are told).
I dare say that the problem or any problem on pricey bike is very frustrating, but I must admit that so far the Service has been next to none.
OK a few DAYS of no riding... I am sure that once I get back on the saddle it will be forgotten and I will soon make up the miles.
On the whole though I must say that this bike handles very well and is also very robust considering. For the money I have not found anything better all round, though I am sure that there must be, but so far I am happy... NOW lets see how long it lasts before I head back to fix it again.
