took my back wheel into LBS to have it trued. they said that they have managed to get it nearly true but as ive dinted the rim a little its not 100%, bloke said that it should be ok to ride and doesnt warrant a new rim, unless i want one. does this sound about right (obvioulsy its hard to comment not seeing wheel) are there any problems that will occur? cheers, dave

Rims can be damaged ina number of ways: the side walls dented inwards, which can be persuaded back, flat spots which are usually terminal, and warping which is not good. A trued wheel is not always the best built as bizarre as that sounds - even spoke tension is what makes a wheel last. A good builder with a slightly uneven rim will balance the trueness/tension of the wheel and find the best compromise.0
