Hope hubs

Just wondering - do Hope still make rear hubs with 130mm spindles for road bikes (specifically, with Campag 9s/10s-pattern freehub splines), or do they only cater for the MTB market these days?

Yes, they do 130mm axles - the new Pro3 can be bought in 130mm.
No, they don't do Campag-pattern freehubs (AFAIK).0 -
I think they do make Campagnolo pattern hubs too.0

Hope hubs: all I'll say is click, click, click....
Are they the noisiest on the market? I dread ridding mine when in a group, everyone knows when I'm freewheeling and the speed increases.0 -
the road hubs are called monos (or were when I had some)
don't do campag afaik
Tune are as noisyFacts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
Now I'm not sure. There's always Goldtec or Royce.0

Doh. I was hoping (sorry  ) to get some of them for my new set of wheels but if they click there's no way. I can't stand that. But then again I've also heard some other hubs are noisy it just depends how much grease is in the freewheel? For example a freinds campag (low end) hubs are really clicky too. My Dura Ace hubs are stealthy and I love that.
The Monos don't seem to be available anymore though are they? Have they been replaced by the Pro3 which seem quite a bot more expensive?0 -
If you want something quiet, go for DT Swiss - they use the star-ratchet from the Hugi-designed hubs. Available in Campagnolo too.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

They can't be worse than the Chris King road hubs I had in my Zipp 303s. Every time I freewheeled in the bunch people thought they were about to get attacked by a huge swarm of wasps!
When I had some Mono hubs in Shimano I just bought a Hope Campag cassette body and fitted it to swap over.0 -
Surprised to hear about noisy Chris King hubs being noisy. Sorry to cut in David but wondering what the best hubs are? With money no object, would it be Tune, or Royce, or any other? Hubs to be strong and quiet and very smooth, thanks.0

By the way, I'm having trouble ridding past horses now. I inevitably have to slow down to get past them which means freewheeling, then click, click, click... and they start to get very wound up as I pass.
Had a good workout today though because of them. My mate was determined to ride so that he could never hear them.0 -
Can't believe they're that loud. Amazing.0

Thanks to all who replied for feedback. Since posting, can confirm from this week's issue of CW that road versions exist after all. Shame no Campag version does, though. I currently have one bike with a Campag Record 8sp rear hub which also has a v. noisy click to it when freewheeling, which doesn't bother me so could live with it from other brands of hub.

Had real problems today. First time of the year with overshoes which were rubbing on the pedal and making one hell of a squeeling sound, so I had to choose either the squeel or freewheel and have the click
What's worse so as not to scare a horse with my clicking squeeling machine, I shouted rather too loudly in advance and the beast started to bolt anyway. You can't win. :oops:0
