what I WOULDN'T recommend are some Altura "insulated" gloves that I was sold by my LBS, £13 wasted, not even warm enough for current conditions let alone when it gets decently cold...
Thought they looked a bit thin but then thought how good the thin head band I have and thin armwarmers are so went with it. Apparantly these particular thin gloves arent miracle fabric0 -
Well, this morning I freewheeled east across Hyde Park by the Serpentine, when I got to Hyde Park corner I looked at my left leg, and thought it looked a bit strange, my foot was at an odd angle and the leg seemed a bit out of place.
I couldn't work it out.
Then I touched it and realised it was compltely numb from the cold.
Might buy some long leggings, looks like this winter is going to be a cold one!0 -

You want some decent motorbike gloves, or Ski gloves from TK Max0 -
Been v cold on South Coast last few days....I was OK in baggy shorts and 3/4 undershorts until last week. Moved to winter tights under my baggies now. Brrr. Feet real cold though....Sealskinz not enough to protect against wind through shoes. Need to invest in some windproof overshoes. Recently bought a Gore Phantom. That has performed awsomely in the cold windy weather. I have headband under lid. Let's heat escape thru open top.
Gloves-wise, I've got Altura waterproof. Bit chunky (can't access the buttons on my MP3 remote with them!!!) but nice n snug.0
