Am moving from Twickenham to Watford in a couple of months. Is there a decent, friendly bike shop there?

Oh and what bastard put a Krispy Kreme there? Weight goes on, weight goes off, weight goes on, weight goes off...

Top man, you traditional local bike shop.

There is a cyclopedia on Merton road in watford which looks Ok but never had anything done there - seems more sales than service orientated and wouldn't darken his workshop doors with my tandem.

  • Fantastic - just what I'm after. I prefer the traditional type organisation. Thanks!

I metabolise donuts pretty quickly. Either that or they go straight through me. It's years of practice.

I used them when I lived there for a few months in '04-'05 and found the sales and workshop sides both fine - they did a good wheel rebuild on the MTB I used for commuting back then without charging a small fortune. They also used to have a few S/H bikes for sale, don't know if they still do. Can also recommend (strictly in moderation) the nearby Ebb Tide fish & chip shop! From memory there was another, smaller, bike shop on the way into town from Vicarage Road footie ground and the hospital, can't remember the name though.

  • Not too far away (a nice ride in fact!) would be The Bike Shop in North Harrow. This is a nice traditional style shop with it's own brand of bits (Quest). I have used them for years and find them to be a friendly bunch.

I visited the bike shop in North Harrow only last month. Malcolm I have to say is a top bloke!! Recommended, as are their Quest Como wheels at 60 quid a pair, just the thing for winter!
  • Cool so plenty of good places around :)

    Glad we're moving there now!
  • both me and my brother have been using the guys in The Bike shop for years and have never had anything but tip top service. Highly reccomended and easily the best bike shop in that area. You could always try Action bikes in Ruislip as well they're pretty good.
