Swapping out handlebars/shifters

I've just bought a new set of drops after an accident last week in which I warped my current set of handlebars quite badly.

Both STI shifters and brakes still work so I'm just going to swap them over on to the new bars. Is this an easy job? Is there anything I need to know before I start (have never changed shifters before). Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide for fitting them?

Edit: Also, I didn't buy any bar tape, since I always use mitts, is it necessary other than to cover cables?

Thanks

    Straightforward.

You'll need an allan key, some tape (i.e. sticky tape), little bit of grease for the part where the handlebars attach to the stem.

I would get some bar tape to cover the handlebars. It's not expensive - e.g. 5 quid should get you some. This is the only "tricky-ish" bit to fitting handlebars, but isn't difficult.

If you google there should be some sites showing different ways of attaching bar tape.
