Hi there

This is my first post; I want to show you a petition marked me from some fotomiglio.com's readers.

can find it here
http://www.fotomiglio.com/wp

or in english here:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Vbrake

I think to understand the author's intention: this ISN'T a war against Disc brake, but a simple request to keep V-brake on high-level MTBs.

Ale

I run Vs, and can sympathise! All we need are small batches of forks and frames with the mounts as an option.
  • I'd like the option of both too tbh.

I run discs now (purely because they came on my new bike) but used V's for years, and (hard hat on) I don't really notice that much of a difference, and the percieved lack of power in V's is offset by the simplicity compared to bleeding discs, and centering etc.

I reckon my HS33s had the best of both worlds...I digress..

It'd be nice to be able to choose whether to have V mounts or not,but I think this is a lost cause tbh given current trends.

I'd prefer V's over discs on my SS but as the frame was disc only I had to go the full disc route though I could have run a V on the front as I'd feel better initially during the crossover period but now after a few days I'm gaining confidence in discs.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Sorry guys discs any day for me. I used to go through V brake pads very quickly, when I changed to discs I started buying discs pads a lot less often than I used to buy pads for V's. I've spent less time setting up discs than I have discs brakes, prehaps bleed dics once a year, takes me half hour.

Therefore discs for me any day, I've had less problems with them and there better suited to the crap weather we have in the UK.

If you happy using V's thats fine buy me.

Surly manufactures are going to continue to produce V brake products for those that perfer them and the XC racers out there; well any that want to keep there customer base.
