You can do a DIY offroad light at that price. Anything off the shelf at that kind of money is going to be a compromise for off road I reckon.0

BLT Metrino is excellent for the money.0

found the blt metrino for £46. before i buy...
will these be good enough to get me round my xc route which is a mix of wooded areas, and singletrack, bridleways? jus how bright are they?
im not expecting them to be as good as hopes but for sub £50 if they get me round then bargain. dont want to spend much either as im unsure how much i will like night riding, might be a lil spooky going across the marshes buy myself at night!!!

You wont find better for this money. Very well made, twin switchable bulb (5 and 10 watt), decent run times and great little battery pack. They arent the brightest out there, but very capable.0

You remember Trapdoor?!
Nah, keep the 5 and 10, its more flexible and will increase run time.0 -
where did you find it for £46?0

The Electron EHP 315s are very good for the money too and can normally be picked up for less than £50 from one of the big on-line shops.2006 Giant XTC

I run a Cateye EL530 & that got me round 25 miles last night on my own with no problem. Sure, it's not rechargeable, but at £31 off eBay, you can buy a pack of 2700mha rechargeable batteries for it for well under a tenner within your budget. It runs mega bright for 10 hours (1500 candle power) then super bright for 80 more (that's what it was running last night)
I ride with a pack of guys who use £400 headlights, & they were pretty impressed with it, so it can't be that bad!0 -
