i think the only lizard skin i'd buy would be the chainstay one to stop the chain smacking the frame and ripping off paint+more. wouldn't get a headset one really and certainly wouldn't get any for forks or shocks. I think that the seals on these modern parts are much better than lizard skins. Back in the day when the seals were a bit crap n forks needed boots then maybe but not anymore0

I bought the Lizard Skins Chainstay protector.. 1 minute to fit it, which is cleaning the stay and pressing it on. I didnt think it would stick around the stay, especially as the protector is rather thick, but it did stick and still is.
I bought the clear one, and you really can't see it, as its over the top of the original "kona" chainstay protector.
It also came with a couple of frame patches, which I used to stop the cables rubbing on by the head tube.
Else use an old inner tube with a few cable ties, proper McGuyver I think the lizard skins option would protect your bike better than an inner tube though.0 -
They are pretty good but you need to take them off every now and then to clean off the accumulated junk that finds its way in. I like them because they protect the top of the fork from stone chips which really aren't good for an air fork.0
