Washer type

Does anyone know where on a bike a certain type of very thick washer should go (there's 2 of them) - it's flat on one side (with straight lines running outward) and kind of hollowed or curved inwards on the other - reason I ask was that after assembling the bike a few days ago, they were left over.

Thanks

    Are they about 10mm diameter?

If so, they sound like the washers used with your brake shoes that allow them to be toed in.

Or, if they are not dished but cut out as if a cylinder has been removed, they are the spacers that fit behind the brake to form a flat surface at the fork crown. I doubt it is these because they do no tappear on many modern machines with allen key brakes etc.

Lesson to be learned is to strip only one piece of equipment at a time.

Thanks Tat - yes they are roughly 10mm in diameter by 2-3mm - but corresponding to your 2nd suggestion, they do like like a cylinder has been cut out from one side - the bike had the back brake fitted when it arrived but not the front one - they did look at the time something to do with a flush fit for the brakes on the forks, but I wasn't sure - I checked the back brake but they didn't appear to use these washers so I left them off the front brake setup (to keep it the same). I'll have a Google and check them just to home in a bit more, then possibly fit one at the front brake.

    Thanks
