help!!!!!!!!! focus killer bee or merlin malt 4

Hi all,
Im in the market for a new hard tail for upto £1000. Im basically looking for something a little diffrent and for something which represents good value for money with a decent spec.
I have whittled it down to the focus killer bee and the merlin malt 4 and just cant make my mind up.
I really like the killer bee but Im not keen on the white alex rims on the bike but at £850 I could change the rims to xm719's or xc717's and still be well under my budget.
On the other hand the malt 4 is also a nice looking bike with the xt upgrade and black rims etc.. it just creeps over the £1000 mark- just.
Can anyone that owns one of them give there view?
so guys I would love some comments positive or negative about either bike to try help me make my mind up. :roll:

Malt 4.
Top quality bit of kit, highly rated by all it's owners.
IIRC it has recently won a bike test in MBUK
The Focus isn't as well known a brand, and as such has less reviews/owners.
I'd go for the Merlin, you'll love it.

hmmm what shall i recommend hehehe malt4!
how come in that review it's got what looks like dt swiss rims? did they put some 4.2's or 5.1's on there instead of the mavic717's?
hmm they say £798 in that review, to get a malt4 in that spec would be more like £1000 i think.
i'd also consider as the xt upgrade does'nt include xt hubs by the looks of it to phone them up and get a quote with full xt kit including hubs and another quote for xt kit + hope pro 2 hubs. or custom anything you like, merlin will do it if they stock it i think:)0
