Mashed up my rear mech and chain today as it all got caught in the wheel (think the hanger sheared off after straightening it a while ago!). Luckily the wheel looks OK.

The chain is just over a year old (1/2 rides/week) and I'm guessing I'll need to replace the cassette as well - am I right?

Probably an expensive mistake in not replacing the hanger first time round!

if the cassette is not overy worn then no.

if the bike has been half looked after it could be ok.

sheldon has some good pics on his webby. but if you fit it and the chain jumps or shifts poorly it could be the cassette.
