Hi.

Am interested in getting a Giant STP.
I've been looking at the 2008 and 2007 models.

The newer model mentions that it is fluid formed, whilst the 2007 doesn't.

Is it worth going for the newer one? will this make a difference (if the old one isn't fluid formed)?

I prefer the look on the (black) 2007 model, which is why I am asking.... (intending to throw some halo rims on and hydros at later date)

I have an STP related question.

In some of the MBUK articles you see Rob Warner thrashing an STP on singletrack, I was under the impression the STP was a pure jump bike? Therefore my my question is, is the STP singletrackable? Or is Mr. Warner jus popping out for a mess about for the photo in the article?
  • Just had confirmation from Giant, colour is the only difference.

Anyone got a 2008 stp? any photos knocking around?

Had a price of £235 for an STP 2 this morning, brand new. Seems like a bargain...

Tommy, STP are used alot on single track - Doddy and Rob Warner have often thrown one about...

    Cheers!

it is a 14 or 15" frame so quite small i have owned the 15" one and rode lots of singletrack on it, it is a handfull due to being very stiff in the rear end so you have to ride quite agressivly to get it to go where ya want it too but they are sooo much fun. I am 6ft 1 so it was on the small side for me in a sit down xc state but perfect for charging down hills on. I rate these frames very highly like, just a good fun frame to ride.
