I bought a pair of these today and they seem really comfy, however all the write-ups, including the label on the bag, says that the plastic insert is removeable, but I can't see any way to remove this at all.

Also, there are no washing instructions visible... are they fully machine washable?

  • For the machine washing try doing it on a cold wash to begin with as then the colours will be less likely to run and the padding/ whatever will be less likely to shrink(I'm not sure if this is true however. Put it in on it's own and then use one of those colour absorber sheets-they have been advertised on T.V-to see if the colours do run.

I complelty agree - in no way is the plastic removable......
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

  • I got confirmation from the EU distributor. He says
The insert is not removable..the info on pad ,0n line etc is incorrect.
Ref washing - for a longer life I would recommend to hand wash in warm
    water.

I wash my Kyle Straits using hair shampoo in warm water and then rinse thoroughly

I would not use a washing machine as washing powder is more harsh and can get left in the pads, causing a rash when you sweat

you will sometimes find the information on the package is out of date, I have a 661 Pro ankle brace and it talks about plastic splints, but there aren't any and there are no pockets for them to go into...they must have changed the design and not updated the packaging
